Last Winter
Last Winter, written and directed by 25 year-old musician Stephen Mack, follows Twain, a would-be pianist wasting away as a bartender in a second-rate restaurant. He doesn’t play in public, is reticent and withholding in his relationships. When a beautiful waitress named Layla begins working at the restaurant where he works, Twain lusts after her, making many unsuccessful in his attempts at wooing her. In the meantime, he meets a sweet young music teacher named Julie. She falls for him, supports him in following his ambitions, and gradually Twain is enchanted by her charm. But what happens when the girl of his dreams finally responds to his advances?
